Dennis is the Dad. He plays guitar and sings in the band. Dennis is also the sound and recording tech and handles all of the details. Besides reading, he enjoys playing guitar, writing songs, hunting and spending time with his kids.
Ruth is the mom. She sings… or tries to look like she’s singing. She enjoys being with her family, schooling the kids and helping Dennis in whatever endeavor he has. Ruth has been learning quilting lately. She also blogs and runs a forum for moms.

Benjamin, 27, is the drummer/percussionist for the band. After graduating at age 16, he worked for EBC Trusses for nearly 10 years. He is now an over-the-road truck driver hauling federal mail. In his off time, he works as the foreman for the Black Coffee Ranch. He enjoys gun collecting (especially black powder), eating, reading, hand making knives using his forge, improving on his pickup, and listening to Keith Green music.
Eric, 24, is the chairman of the board (soundboard), and he plays harmonica in the band. He is a mechanic, and has made E.C.’s previous main guitar amp (until he disassembled it and turned it into some other form of electronic gadgetry), when he was 13. He enjoys various forms of verbal sarcasm, electronics, and modifying his various vehicles with a sawzall with the well-meaning, but oft misguided, intentions of improvement. He also enjoys illustrating, and has sometimes achieved likenesses nearing the perfection of a 5 year-old with a sharpie.
Elizabeth, 22, plays the bass guitar, recorder, flute, and sings. Since graduating at age 15, she has been enjoying teaching the younger children. She keeps busy with studying to be an herbalist, working as the Black Coffee Ranch secretary, concocting various edible, and inedible, elixirs and potions in the kitchen, reading, sewing, various ranch chores, and researching various interests, including our genealogy… and yours.
Emily, 20, sings and plays guitar. She enjoys dancing in the kitchen while she is cooking dinner, reading, playing classical guitar, singing, ranch work, and training horses. She is talented with taming animals, dangerous or otherwise. Emily couldn’t get enough of a fix with her own horses, so she collaborated with Kate to take in other people’s horses to do Trimming & Training
Kate, 20, was born 40 minutes after Em. Kate sings and plays piano in the band. She enjoys singing, playing piano, being with family, laughing, helping school the kids, shooting, hunting, fishing, riding/training horses, and spending time with animals. (See Twin Trimming & Training.) She also raises worms for fishing.

Tessila, 16, sings and plays piano and synthesizer in the band. She enjoys photography, playing the piano, singing, music in general, writing, reading, beading, shooting, hunting, riding horses, playing with cows, and ranch work.
Rase, 14, sings and plays the cricket in the band. He is also first roadie. He likes to play Legos, read, hunt, eat, build, shoot, and repair broken items around the house. His interest are: cows, doing concrete, and dogs. He cares for the Black Coffee Ranch’s chickens, and feeds and waters the cattle in the home pasture.
Jayden, 12, sings and works the lights. He is second roadie. He likes to play with plenty of sound effects. He possesses the unique ability to play with (insert random noun) that does not exist. He also likes building forts, reading, and playing legos. He has become quite the imaginative writer and artist.
Abigail, 11, sings and looks cute. She enjoys baking, ranch work, playing with the dog, building legos, riding horses, playing outside, and playing with her brothers and little sister.
Elle, 8, sings and looks cute. She enjoys reading, cooking, baking, talking, giggling, riding horses, doing nails and hair, playing with dolls and stuffed animals, making experiments and inventions in the kitchen, riding her bike, jumping on the trampoline with her older siblings and the dog, playing hide-and-seek, playing legos, and getting daddy’s attention.
