1 c sugar
¾ c butter
3 squares (3 oz) unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled (9 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa and three tablespoons of butter will work just as well)
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 eggs
A crumb crust (regular pie crusts just don’t taste as good)

In a bowl, beat sugar and butter with an electric mixer on medium speed about 4 minutes, or till fluffy. Stir in chocolate and vanilla. Add eggs, one at a time, beating on high speed after each addition, and scraping sides of bowl constantly. Transfer the mixture to crumb crust. Cover; chill for 5-24 hours, or until set.
