		<description>We use it up so fast, it hasn&#039;t been an issue. I think the recommended is within 6 weeks it should be used if placed in an airtight container in the pantry.</description>

		<description>I have not tried anything to substitute except the cheaper brand of shortening. I found it to be may less superior so we went back to spending the extra for the higher quality. You could always try and let us know how it goes!</description>
