About Stained Glass
The stained glass mentioned in the first verse and in the chorus is a reference to 1 Corinthians 13:12, “For now we see through a glass, darkly”. We don’t see the reasons why things are as they are but Jesus is the Way, Truth and Life, and tied to Him, I don’t have to worry just as a small child doesn’t worry with their parents in charge. It’s best I don’t see everything going on behind the scenes: I might be tempted to try to micro manage God’s plans. Jesus said that the Kingdom of God belongs to those who come as little children. That is those who wait on Him. Those whose trust He’s in control, those who obey him. Oh yeah, little children are supposed to obey their parents! That training is crucial to learning how to obey God! No wonder there are so many Godless people who call themselves Christians. John 10:27 – My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.
Jesus’ blood covering me opens my eyes to what is real life and stains me white, pure, and clean. I am stained. Hence, the spatters of blood on the window of our album cover.
Because of His staining me with His blood, He has purchased me and I am no longer my own, I’ve been bought with a price. I die to myself and my wants and rather become a willful slave to Him and His desires and wishes. This is what I was made for! This is where I find REAL life and eternal satisfaction!!
