Reading
Reading
by Elizabeth McLean
In some ballads and stories,
They may have different and
Strange things, such as the Tories,
They may have beaches, covered in sand,
But, that isn’t such a strange thing, I guess.
In Shakespeare’s plays,
Maybe interesting and sad, all in one phrase
The setting maybe in some place like France
And maybe some knights, jousting with a lance
But, in the end, everybody dies
Some better reading is things such as,
Louis L’Amours, or books by Anne McLean
Or, G. A. Hentys and be in Mexico with Cortez
In between turning pages, how bout get a cup of tea
But, beware; some tea may have a lot of caffeine
You may find this poem amusing,
Like my sister, Anne
Or it may be to you, confusing
And then you will have to go back to where you began
But, read carefully, and take my advice, go read something better!
