God With Us

Dark was the night as the hearts of sinful men,
With light announced angels a Savior among them
The shepherds, they ran to the place that was told,
Anxious they were for the promised, to behold
The kings of the East brought their gifts from afar,
What gifts bring you, doth the Lord He desire?
God made into man he shared in our flesh,
A sinless life He lived sin conquered in death.
The wrath of God laid upon His dear Son
To save sinners from death for us it is done
A babe in a manger He was not for long,
Enthroned in Heaven made mighty and strong
A choice you have whom you will now serve,
Give all in your receiving for into life you will swerve
Remember not the babe because it is Christmas,
Rather, obey Jesus for He is God with us.
